Daily Grommet, launching soon, is a deal-a-day company (think woot.com).  What so fab about it?  The products are geared toward moms and sold by small entrepreneurs.

This cool new site is all about product discovery, while providing distribution channel to those that might not otherwise have the same kind of reach.  Moms within existing passionate online communities will find that Daily Grommet is a fun and revolutionary way to discover new products.

By offering a one product a day discovery to moms, Daily Grommet hopes to leverage:

  • People’s love of uncovering fresh finds and being the first to be in possession of products that haven’t hit the big time yet.
  • Moms’ preference of authentic learning through real people, friends, and trusted sources, and to make recommendations of their own.
  • The power of online communities to create viral buzz and lift a product or news story from obscurity to something meaningful.

Each product of the day — sourced through the community and selected by Grommet — is presented in a very clean and simple format:

  • A photo.
  • A low cost, in-house video that will not only present the product but tell a story.
  • Storytelling will answer the following questions: Why does this product matter? Who invented or designed it? Why?  Who recommended it? Why?
  • A discussion board for users and suppliers. Once product presentation goes live at noon each day, a discussion board will open in which the supplier and/or person suggesting the product  will participate live.  People can comment on the product, ask questions, and make suggestions.
  • Easy as pie “Share this” and “Buy this” tools.

Just like Woot.com, Daily Grommet will sell the product for no more than 24 hours, or sooner if it is sold out.   Beyond the first day’s sale, prior Grommets will be searchable in a back catalog, with clear link access to the suppliers.

Oh, and mommy bloggers, you’re in for treat.  The Daily Grommet will have monetized widgets.  Sweet!
