Read More: Day 1 of 15 Days of New Years Resolutions

With preschool, favorite toys, my jobs, hubs’ jobs, and just trying to cram everything we need to do into the allotted twenty-four hours we get each day, sometimes it’s hard to find time to read.

So, to ease us in to the 15 Days of New Years Resolutions, we’ll start with:

99cc00;">Read More Books, Magazines, Blogs, Newspapers

000000;">For me, accomplishing this is two pronged:  having the material and having the time.

My suggestions for accomplishing this?  Turn off the TV an hour earlier every night, set aside a time each night to read as a family and make it a daily ritual, and read about subjects you are passionate about.

Need some inspiration?

Favorite Novels I read in 2008:

Gods in Alabama(Thanks Tara!), Goodnight Nobody: A Novel, All We Ever Wanted Was Everything, Testimony, The Beach House, American Wife.

I read all of these books on my Amazon Kindle and credit this little device with my increase in reading this past year.  The price tag is a bit steep, but I’ve found that I’ve saved enough money on bestsellers already (Kindle versions are $9.99 for most).  Plus, Kindle users can download a sample of a book before purchasing it, this has been extremely helpful when reading parenting and business books.

Favorite Ways to Enjoy Blogs:

While I have Google Reader for reading my favorite blogs, I’ve found that Twitter is a great way to keep up to date with my favorite blog posts, too.  I also enjoy checking out the blogs of people that comment on my blog too. And with BlogRovr, Bloglines, and Feedly among the feed reader options out there, there’s no reason we should be enjoying each others’ blogs!

Favorite Magazines:

I used to get a lot more magazines before life got busy.  But I still have a few favorites that include People (my mother-in-law gets me a subscription for Christmas every year, Martha Stewart Living, and Shape.  My son, who is 3, loves getting mail so we ordered him a subscription to Tessy & Tab for Christmas this year.  Other great kids magazines are Zoobooks, Jack and Jill, and Turtle.

Speaking of magazines and giving them as gifts…I’ve got a great giveaway today to kick off our 15 Days of New Years Resolutions!

I’ve got two Giftscriptions to give away!  Giftscriptions are a great way to give the gift of a magazine to someone.  With 50 magazines to choose from and the great price of $19.99, you can’t go wrong with this gift.  They can be ordered online or found at popular retailers like Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million, and Borders Books. Giftscriptions gave me one to experience and I chose a year’s subscription to Martha Stewart Living with mine.

So what do you have to do to win one of the of the two Giftscriptions?  Share the following in the comments section:

  • Whether you would give the Giftscriptions as a gift or keep for yourself.
  • Your favorite book, magazine, blog, and blog feed reader.

I will do a random drawing tomorrow evening, (Wednesday, December 17) at 10pm from all entries and declare two winners.

Good luck and happy reading!
