My Ford Flex Romance: The Fling Ends

Alas, I received the dreaded phone call today.  The fleet specialists are arriving at my house tomorrow morning to pick up the Ford Flex I've been test driving for a week.

It's been a whirlwind romance.  I hadn't even heard of the Ford Flex just over a month ago but it was love at first sight.  Sure, it's looks are what caught my attention at first, but the Flex also proved to make me feel safe and secure while bringing out the exciting and rebellious side of me at the same time.  I learned so much about what makes the Flex tick and feel like I've merely scratched the surface.  The Flex's attention to detail, it's high tech surprises that seemed to never end make me swoon. The Flex became part of me this whole week, part of my family, and no one can take those memories away.

But now I have to say a bittersweet good-bye, but I'd rather think of it as "see you later" as my current lease on my Jeep ends soon and perhaps again, I can reunite with my true love...The Ford Flex.

After you left a comment on my blog talking about how much you love the Flex, I came here looking for the details...which left me wanting more. Will you be posting more detailed impressions of the Flex in the future?

Feel free to contact me if you ever need insight into vehicle reliability, fuel economy, or pricing. TrueDelta.com provides information in these areas that is more up-to-date and more detailed than you can get anywhere else.

Wow - there's some serious Flex love going on here - across the whole family! I'm glad you were able to spend some enjoyable time in it.

But you *did* know that there's a button inside the rear door jam that allows you to automatically flip up the rear seats, didn't you?

Thanks for your thorough testing and reviewing of many of the cool features of the Flex. I hope we'll see more of you in the Flex soon. :-)

I'm more of a reader than a viewer, so I didn't intially go through all of the videos. I have now--some good stuff in there. The main thing I didn't see/hear--and this is probably my car enthusiast bias coming through--is anything on performance, ride, and handling.

Also, did you track your MPG while you had the car? One thing I've heard is that people tend to assume the Flex does worse here than it actually does, because it looks so large.

One thing that cannot be stressed too much: the seats in the Flex truly are fabulous. I've personally driven just about everything, and these are among the best for long-distance comfort.

You all are adorable, what a great sport your hubby is!

I'm seeing features that may allow me to finally give up the god forsaken mini van we have. I can't stand to look at it, but it's just so dang functional. The Flex may compare!

Jessica,

I enjoyed your review of the Ford Flex--I'll try and rent one for an upcoming trip, but the additional gem was a response from that Michael guy. After I read his comments, I went to his website, truedelta.com and found a TREASURE TROVE of car buying info--that site rocks! The info seems really fresh and updated. You should do a feature about that site so we can save money and be better informed about our car buying options. (women are usually at a real disadvantage when we go car buying). Thanks.

loved reading (and seeing!) you document your love affair! not sure if i told you but i used to work for Ford in Marketing and Sales before Business School and my new life as a cyber mommy! I'll be anxious to give it a go after YEARS in an Explorer and most recently a leased Murano which runs out in about 6 months. We'd LOVE to get back into a Ford if we can make it work out price wise! fabulous hanging in bentonville. miss you already. xo colleen :)
