Bentonville or Bust! Walmart Here We Come
UPDATE: I AM NO LONGER AN ELEVEN MOM, I STEPPED DOWN AT THE END OF 2008. MY REASONS ARE POSTED HERE.
This week, the Eleven Moms will be converging on Bentonville, Arkansas to visit Walmart's home office and to find out more about Walmart as a company. I wanted to give you a sneak peek at what our trip will entail. I'm pretty excited about it, especially since I'll have an opportunity to bond with all the other Eleven Moms.
Since we're all coming in from different parts of the country our arrival times will vary. Shortly after I land in Bentonville, I'll be joining Lucretia from GeekMommy, Tara from Deal Seeking Mom, Jenn from Frugal Upstate, Christine of From Dates to Diapers and Beyond, and Heather from The Domestic Diva for an online chat session. And guess what? You're invited. On Thursday, October 9, from 12-2pm CST, come join us as we answer questions about saving money and planning for the upcoming holidays on a budget. We'll be covering all sorts of topics including decorating, food planning, gift shopping, and travel. If you want to get in on the action early, you can visit the Eleven Moms site right now and submit your question to us.

At different points of the day, each of the Eleven Moms will be whisked away to a fabulous salon for a Secret Shampoo Makeover. That's right, we're going to get a sneak peek at a secret shampoo that has yet to launch and get the star treatment too. That's what I'm talkin' about!
After we get all beautified we'll be attending a demo by Chef Lee, Campbell Soup's very own in-house Chef for a cooking demonstration at Campbell's kitchen lab. Following the demonstration we'll all sit down for a Thanksgiving Dinner with all the trimmings to eat what we've just learned.
On Friday morning, we'll wake up to a Kelloggs sponsored breakfast before attending presentations at Walmart's offices. First up, we'll find out more about Walmart's food and seasonal offerings. Then we'll tour their Innovations Center. I'm especially excited about our lunch plans though. We'll be treated to lunch while we get a sustainability overview. I care a lot about our environment and I am really interested in seeing the initiatives that Walmart has with regard to this subject.
Following lunch, we'll get a store tour and get a chance to talk to the Walmart's Baby team. Then we'll meet and greet with the Walmart Executives before heading back to our hotel to primp for dinner (or nap, whichever seems more necessary).
We'll be enjoying dinner at one of Bentonville's finest restaurants with Walmart's Emerging Media team. After that, I'm looking forward to some quality R&R time with my fellow moms, just hanging out and bonding.
Finally, on Saturday, we'll be going to Walmart's notorious Saturday Morning Meeting. This long-time tradition often hosts celebrities as guests and this week will be no different. I am so psyched about who will be there! Paula Deen and...wait for it...Harrison Ford! I'm a huge fan of both so this should be super exciting!
After the meeting, it will be time to head back home, with lots of memories and some new mommy friends.
As you can probably guess, I plan to tweet during the entire visit and hopefully have some video to share as well.
Don't forget to post your questions to the Eleven Moms site for Thursday's chat from 12-2pm CST! Hope to see you there!

Oh man, I'm just green with envy right now. Seriously! You all are rock stars, I hope you have an amazing time!
btw, Harrison Ford? FOR REALZ? Harry and Paula are two of my favs. Le sigh.
What a scream! You lucky girls - Harrison Ford has improved with age, in my opinion. And Paula Deen rocks too, still love that great Southern food I grew up with.
Hope you all have a marvy time!! We lived in a metro area close to Bentonville and were fortunate to often experience their beta testing for store designs, products and services--loved that! We now live in a city where Wal-Mart is, of course, a presence, but we don't have all that awesome gourmet, special service goodies kinda stuff. Miss it!
Blessings!

Color me green! And I don't mean eco-friendly green. That sounds so awesome. Would be especially interested in your insights from meetings with Emerging Media team ... and the scoop on WalMart's environmental initiatives.
How exciting for you! Congratulations! The hair makeover and celebrity treatment alone would be enough to make me giddy!
