What Kind of Car Should a Chief Mom Officer Drive?

In a few months I need to seriously start considering my next car purchase as my current lease will be expiring at that time.  I usually don’t plan too far ahead when it comes to buying a car, however, I’ve got a laundry list of things I need and an equally long list of features I want so I’m turning to you, my loyal readers, to help choose my next car.

As a Chief Mom Officer, building and maintaining my brand is key so I need a car that is on-brand.  So tell me, what car just screams “Chief Mom Officer” to you.

I’m not sure if the perfect CMO-mobile exists but I’m hoping I can find something that comes close.

Must-haves:

  • Great gas mileage.

  • Backseat fit for a booster/car seat.

  • Lots of trunk space for picking up those great Freecycling finds as well as gear for soccer and other preschooler activities.

  • Gadget friendly: should be mp3-player ready for my business & marketing audiobooks.  And I should not have to choose between charging my iPod or charging my BlackBerry.

  • Functional console so I can keep my coffee handy and find a pen easily plus spare change for the parking meters.

  • High safety rating.

  • Moderately priced.

Big Fat No-Nos:

  • Gas guzzlers

  • Mini-vans

Icing on the cake:

  • Hybrid.

  • Sunroof.

  • Keyless entry.

  • Satellite Radio.

  • Camping-friendly.

  • Remote-start.

  • Leather package included.

  • Modern and forward-thinking (just like a CMO!).

  • Power everything.

  • Wagon or Crossover.

Can’t wait to hear your ideas!  I will vlog all of my test driving experiences.

Not a gas guzzler and still have room for kids? We have been looking at cars lately to find our next purchase. We have a Hyundai Santa Fe that we quickly out grew after two kids.

We are looking at the Toyota Highlander Hybrid. Downside is if you get the hybrid you lose the 3rd row seats.
