The #FriendshipExperiment

Most that know me well know that I'm a pretty avid social media user.  I connect with old friends as well as those I've just met on Facebook, I tweet even when I'm on vacation, and get slightly panicky if I'm my iPhone is out of range or there's no WiFi.

Part of that probably comes from the fact that many "in real life" friends are connecting with me digitally and many of those I've connected with online first have become offline friends as well.  Gone are the days of the speed dial...now we've got direct messages, email, texting, and instant messenger.

With this post I want to take the time (and encourage others to do the same) to spread some of this gratitude for the friends I have...my life is not without it's ups and downs.  It's my friends that help me celebrate the ups and give me perspective and moral support during the downs.

So here's what I want to do...a little #friendshipexperiment so to speak.

First, I'm going to pick five of my friends blogs...based purely on that...friendship.  And I'm going to tweet a link to their blog and why they're such a good friend.

Then, I'm going to do the same on Facebook, with a wall post linking to each of their blogs as well using the tagging feature on Facebook with the same information.

Simply because they're friend...not for any other reason.

I encourage you to do the same.

And my hope?  Is that maybe I'll discover and be introduced to a few more friends along the way.

Cheesy?  Maybe.

But what can I say...me being a cheeseball?  Will not surprise my friends at all.

Think this is wonderful - makes me feel warm and fuzzy!

I love your heart.

I love it when I click through & get a little surprise of a new look over at Jessica Knows; I **cannot** make up my mind about a new design (been thinkin' about it for over a year), and you've probably had a dozen changes in that time :). Wish I had the design skillz to fool around with it.

Anyways.....YOUR POST! ha! I've already digressed!! Seems like several in the bsphere have been thinkin' similarly; I'm having a #sisterparty on Friday to celebrate my girlfriends who live nearby. Amber (The Runamuck) nudged me to DO what I had been thinkin' about anyway. It's so easy to neglect real life friends because it takes intent to BE with them, to make plans, to handle the details of getting together (ESPECIALLY when you factor in kids and jobs and schedules and AHHHHH!) :).

Love how you're treating this cyberly; and I think I'll do this very same thing throughout the day to spotlight some bloggy friends

Love how you inspire me (and so many) to do good. What a worthy investment of your voice :).

I *love* this idea. I'm always up for giving a little love to my friends. I have only one IRL blogger friend, but I can certainly share the twitter/fb/etc love anyway.

Thank you for this! And I have already found several new people that I am excited to follow! Thanks for feeding the stalking addiction. :)

Yo...Jess...can we shorten that hashtag? #friendshipexp? It's too long to say as much as I **need** to ;) :) xo

Cheesy = heart and you have plenty of that. Smart you are but the heart is what makes everyone love you Jessica. It is why I always gets a "feel good" feeling from your blog (and you).

Thanks for the friendship tweet, it means a lot. Time I got back on that wagon and remember what is good and fun on the web!

This is a sweet post, but underneath it all I see a lot of value for my blog. It's funny but I got your name from Jenn at Savor the Thyme. She told me I needed to reach out you, but I did not understand why.I do a very food specific blog. Not at all geared to family fare (though not family UN-friendly either. I use a lot of humor, especially in my very un-traditional cooking videos (have a peek at Because A Can, Can Can-Can http://www.sippitysup.com/cancanvideo) and a snarky attitude to get my point across... But after reading 8 or 10 of your posts I see I have a lot to learn. My blog's Alexa is 77,909, so I thought I was doing fairly well in the 10 months I have been around. But you have so inspired me to reach to new heights and markets. Thanks GREG

Such a fun friendship blog - thanks for doing this! I'll get in on the #friendshipexperiment too.

Thanks for promoting something that is near and dear to my heart too - female friendship. If you'd like, I'd love to share this as a guest blog on Girlfriendology.com. Just let me know (of course I'd give links/credit).

Thanks for this and for all you do for women and your girlfriends! Debba / http://girlfriendology.com
