Introducing Project 6 am
I have a confession to make.
For the past few years, I haven't used an alarm clock.
My wake-up time has been solely dependent on that of my son's. If he gets up at 5:30am, I do. And if he "sleeps in" until 8am...I've seen no need to wake up any earlier.
But I've also seen no need to:
However, you will be happy to know that I do, indeed, shower everday (well, most of the time), put on deodorant, and brush my teeth. I probably shouldn't even have to say that. But considering what I've just confessed, I figured it necessary.
Recently, I was invited by EA Sports Active to be one of their featured 30 Day Challengers for the launch of their game, based on Bob Greene's personal training program, for the Wii on May 19. I was ecstatic because, well, I do need to exercise. Period. And, I saw it as an opportunity to do a complete overhaul on my everyday appearance.
Being behind a laptop, as long as I feel good about the way my mind is working...I'm golden. At the same time, I'd love to agree, on the fly, to let the web cam on when I'm watching Startup Lucky. Or not hide when I'm doing a conference call that just happens to have a video aspect to it.
I'd also love to be more spontaneous about leaving the house during the day. Normally, I won't jump up and do a last-minute playdate if I'm not feeling, shall we say, presentable.
But that's going to stop.
When the 30 Day Challenge starts on April 14, I am going to make it my goal to be ready to wake up on my own terms. With my own alarm clock
my iHome alarm clock
at 6am...EVERY. SINGLE. MORNING.
My husband is skeptical. He knows me well and knows I am far from a morning person but I'm up for the challenge.
I know I can't do it alone. And I know that I'll have my fellow EA Sports Active Challengers supporting me as I support them. But some of them are planning to work out at night.
So, do you want to do Project6am with me?
Keep each other accountable.
And feel fabulous, look fabulous, and be fabulous for ourselves? We do a lot for our families, our clients, our jobs, our spouses, our kids, our home....let's do something for us.

But I've also seen no need to:
- Wash and blow dry my hair every day.
- Put on makeup when I leave the house (or stay home for that matter).
- Wear much more outside of my comfort zone of wardrobe that consists of sweats, jeans, t-shirts, and hoodies.
- Incorporate much in the way of exercise into my daily routine (unless you count carrying my laptop from one room to the other).
However, you will be happy to know that I do, indeed, shower everday (well, most of the time), put on deodorant, and brush my teeth. I probably shouldn't even have to say that. But considering what I've just confessed, I figured it necessary.
