Everyone has their reasons for "going green".

Some do it for the health and safety of their family. Others do it to protect our future energy sources. And a lot of people do it out of love for our Mother Earth.

I grew up with some pretty eco-conscious parents but it wasn't until my son was born that I started paying more attention. And even though I'd like to think I'm pretty environmentally aware, I know realistically I've only scratched the surface.

We have a controlled, digital thermostat system in our house. And our monthly utility bills are consistently the same amount so we've become creatures of habit and honestly, we don't pay THAT much attention to our energy consumption. Sure, we try to turn off lights when we leave the room and we have CFLs (compact fluorescent lightbulbs) but I'm sure if we knew more about our actual situation we could do something about it.
