5 Things I Don't Like About the Ford Flex
Don't get me wrong, I'm still lovin' the Ford Flex.
You know when you first start dating someone and it seems everything about them is perfect? Then time goes by and even though your love for them might grow, you find out things about them that bother you. You know, like leaving the door open when they go to the bathroom or slurping their soup or their tendency to drop everything for a game during football season. (By the way, in the spirit of transparency my husband does none of these).
But you still love them, for their faults even, and you don't try to change them...you just let them know so that they understand why you get into a bad mood every once in a while.
So, this is my list of things I don't like about the Ford Flex even though my love for the Flex remains strong.
- The fridge in the center console opens from the opposite side of the driver and front passenger seat. While this makes it ideal for the people sitting in the third row, for moms like me, it's annoying when I just want to grab a juicebox for my preschooler at a stoplight.
- That being said, when my friends carpool with me anywhere (for blogger events locally, mostly) they WANT TO SIT IN THE THIRD ROW. Even if there's no one in the second row. This requires me to strain to hear and to yell to back for conversation. And makes me feel like my name should be Jeeves instead of Jessica.
- While the Microsoft Sync feature is cool, I wish it were a little more intuitive. It would be awesome if there were an option to go through a Sync Wizard (as Microsoft provides for it's Office Suite) so that you could set it up easily. Yes, there's a manual, but this busy mom confesses she hasn't cracked it open yet.
- While I love it's roomy, limo-like interior, it has it's drawbacks. Like parking garages at Target, the airport express parking lot and already narrow streets in the city that have cars parked on both sides. I find myself parking further away from where I'm going to avoid doing the parking dance (one step forward, one step back) or taking a different route. Although, this probably has more to do with my granny driving style than it does with the car.
- Again, the roomy interior is awesome but with my son's carseat in the seat behind the front passenger seat? I can't reach back and hold his hand easily or hand him things, retrieve items from him. And he's just young enough that if I put items in the fridge or in the side door pocket, he can't reach that either.
So there you have it, my little pet peeves so far. As I continue to drive the Ford Flex for the rest of the year, I'll continue to share what I love about, what I'm not so in love with, and how it's become a member of our family.
I'll also be driving the Ford Flex to Blogher this year with three other bloggers, Lindsay from Rock and Roll Mama, Janine from Twofer the Price of One, and Linda from Short Pump Preppy.
