Nielsen's Power Moms. I'm One of Them.
Holy Moly!
My head is still spinning from the news I heard today...on Twitter first (shocker) when my colleague Kelly at Care.com tweeted a note of congratulations.
At first I thought it was a joke, because earlier this week I was told I got the "Mother of the Year Award" and, well, you can watch the video about that below.
After taking a deep breath, I clicked the link and started reading a Power Point presentation (hence the reason why I did not get my Google Alert)...I kept reading down the different lists, recognizing lots of moms I know and LOVE in the blogosphere when I finally got to the last page and there it was. My name! On the Power Pack list!
Nielsen (yes, the same Nielsen that rates the television shows we watch) included me on their Online Power Mom 50 list
“Nielsen Online’s Power Mom 50 is a collection of leading voices in the mom blogosphere based on a blend of blog posts and comments, and inbound/outbound captured via Nielsen BuzzMetrics, as well as Twitter followers and other metrics.
The complete list is available here.”

Power Moms Consumer Insight Report
Seriously? Seriously!!!!!
When I first saw the term "Power Pack" it made me think of those little pouches of energy goo my husband slurps for his mountain bike rides. Yeah, not even close. Nielsen defines "Power Pack" moms as:
“…Momfluentials that pack too much of a punch to be categorized. These women create powerful mom networks; speak around the world on the dynamic digital world of mom; and have legions hanging on their every word -via TV, magazines, podcast, blog or tweet.”
And who are they?

- Maria Bailey http://www.bluesuit.com

I'm humbled, thrilled, and completely floored that I'm on the same list as all these amazing women. I would have liked to have seen Elisa Camahort Page, Allison Worthington, and Michelle Lamar (in addition to a slew of other women that I expect to replace us on the list next year, you know who you are!) on the list.
And I also predict with all her Whrrl'g, Tweeting, and blogging, Alison Sweeney may just make that list at some point, too. Yes, THAT Alison Sweeney who you can see on Ellen Monday talking about EA SPORTS Active.
Oh, and here's the "Mother of the Year" award I was talking about.
