Recently my blog, lendingladies.wordpress.com has started posting ads. First of all, if I want ads, I would like to at least make the money myself. How do I make their ads go away and find people who want to pay to put theirs on there?

Hi Lending Lady,

Wordpress.com accounts do not let you serve your own ads.  So your first step will be switching blog platforms.  You can do self-hosted Wordpress which will require a little bit of tech-savviness on your part or you can choose from a few different "plug and play" type blog platforms such as Typepad, Blogger, or one of my favorites, SquareSpace.

Once you've decided on the platform you'll want to migrate your posts from your existing wordpress.com blog over to the new platform.  Most blogging platforms provide instructions on how to do this and sometimes it's as easy as entering your blog's feed address and pressing a button.

Finally, you'll want to explore your blog monetization options...I blogged about this in a past post that covers blog monetization in general.  I'm assuming from the name of your blog that financial services related ads might be a lucrative option.  In this case, affiliate advertising would be your best bet.
