If You Give a Mom a Martini...
You never know what will happen.
However, give a mom 10 minutes to herself and everybody wins.
When authors Lyss Stern and Julie Klappas sent me a review copy of their book, "If You Give a Mom a Martini: 100 Ways to Find 10 Blissful Minutes for Yourself", I was skeptical.
100 Ways?
That's a pretty lofty goal.
But yes, there are 100 Ways, not only ideas from the authors themselves but from celebrity moms and well-known personalities. And a lot are ridiculously easy to do. Right. Now.
"If You Give A Mom a Martini" is not a book designed to be read cover to cover, but certainly can be, providing quiet chuckles along the way. Don't be surprised if you are suddenly inspired to send your hubs and the kids out to run some errands so you can put one into practice immediately.
Bottom line: while a novelty book, I'd also consider it a self-improvement book for those with short attention spans. If you feel stressed, frazzled, and can't remember the last time you took some time to yourself, then this book is for you. Buy one for yourself, dog ear your favorites, then buy one for your best friend. It's the gift that keeps on giving.
