Your Best Theme Party Idea Could Win You My Punchbowl
Well, actually, it could win you one of two premium membership upgrades to MyPunchbowl.com.
I'm a total sucker for theme parties. Having been in a sorority during the 90's I've attended my fair share of them. My favorite theme party was one my husband threw for me on my birthday the year we got engaged. It was a "High School" party and attendees had to wear what they wore in high school and bring what they drank at high school parties. There were lots of pegged jeans and flannel. For food, we served high school cafeteria fare, including rectangles of pizza, french fries, and corn dogs.
So to win this giveaway, just list your best theme party idea here in the comments. I will pick one winner that submits a child's theme party idea and one for an adult theme party idea. Deadline is August 28 at midnight PST. Each winner will receive a MyPunchbowl premium upgrade (a $49.95 value!)
I was given a complimentary upgrade recently and I can tell you that I will be using MyPunchbowl instead of Evite and Pingg from now on.
Things I love about MyPunchbowl.com:
- As a huge fan of Picnik, this is about as close as it gets to the electronic invitation iteration of my favorite photo editing tool. I can add a photo, change the color of the font and embellishments. I can also drag and rotate the text within the layout.
- For people who like hosting potluck-style events, this platform is made for you! Potlucks are set up within seconds using MyPunchbowl.com. Users can request that their guests choose from the different courses, or can be really specific about what kind of dish they want their guests to bring. Flexibility of the platform makes this one a winner.
- If you're throwing a big event that needs favors or other add-ons, MyPunchbowl.com has you covered with personalized candy tins, Jones Soda, and t-shirts. I'm a fan of this approach to monetizing versus including ads in the invites your guests receive. Plus, it's all relevant.
Things about MyPunchbowl.com that I'm not too fond of:
- I'm not a scrap-booky kind of person and their layouts lean in that direction. You can take off the ribbons and choose less scrapbook-ish paper for your invite if you share the same taste. I worked around it and was happy with the results.
- I wish they had more sleek-looking photos like Pingg. The graphics they offer are good...but I'm hoping they add more sophisticated photography or more designer images in the future.
You can enter as many theme party ideas as you wish...however, please keep it to one entry per comment. I will be asking my colleagues in my office to help me choose the winners.
